I was recommended this story due to a desire to read about a grumpy hero, which I will admit that I’ve never read in a Christian romance. The author did a great job with making Phil’s broodiness real and validated. I also appreciated that he was a ex Special Forces and had lost a leg in the war. That really brought his character to life. Phil and Melissa had a very great connection even though he tried to push her away because he felt broken. The storyline about Mel and her sister all but broke my heart. Will read more!
